ARROWHEAD HIGH SCHOOL School Counseling Office Academic and Career Planning College, Military and Career Exploration Visit Procedures Arrowhead High School values assistance from college, military and other career recruiters in working with our students on academic and career planning. The information below is designed to provide a consistent, valuable, safe and quality opportunity to all students while continuing to hold instructional time in the highest regard. These procedures apply to educational, employment, services opportunities, military, and other recruiters who wish to visit Arrowhead High School (Please note - Athletic coaches/visitors should contact the Activities Office 262/367-1870). These procedures are posted on the Arrowhead High School website, North Campus Welcome Center and provided upon arrival in the Counseling Office. 1. Arrangements must be coordinated by email or phone at least five days in advance with the AHS North Campus Secretary at 262/369-3612 Ext.4209 or Morrison@arrowheadschools.org. The calendar of arranged visits is posted on the AHS website and in the counseling office. 2. All visits occur during the Arrowhead High School lunch periods. A table will be provided for each representative. All recruiters are to set up and remain in the area designated in front of the counseling office. Restrooms for recruiter use are in the counseling office. 3. Recruitment visits are allowed twice each semester per organization/institution/etc. 4. Recruiters are required to register at the Arrowhead High School North Campus Welcome Center upon arrival to receive and wear a Visitors Badge. 5. Recruiters are welcome to contribute a pennant for display outside the counseling office. 6. Recruiters may not make appointments to meet with individual students on campus without written permission of the parent. These visits are limited to the lunch hour of the student. 7. Arrowhead utilizes the general policies outlined by the WEF Statement of Principles of Good Practice, published by the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC). a. Only promotional pamphlets and informational literature such as brochures and catalogs may be distributed. Imprinted pens, gifts, trinkets, etc. are PROHIBITED! (Includes but not limited to: bags, decals, posters, stickers, book covers, rulers, calendars, combs, key chains.) Items may be left with the North Campus Counseling Office for use in student and staff incentive programs. b. The use of mobile vans or distribution of unsolicited materials placed on cars, buses, or people is prohibited. c. Only table front banners, institutional name signs, and program oriented tabletop stands (maximum height 30") will be permitted. Audio and video equipment, large table displays, flag stands and floor-standing displays are not permitted. Lap top computers and IPads with their own source of energy may be used but may be only visual, no audio to minimize disruption d. Representatives must remain behind their table(s) when conferring with students or guests. Counseling or providing information in the aisles is not permitted. Institutions may be represented by a MAXIMUM OF THREE PERSONS. e. Multiple infractions will be grounds for cancellation from the schedule. f. A ?no-show? is considered a scheduled visit. Arrowhead High School realizes that emergencies occur. Please make every effort to contact the counseling office if you are unable to attend. g. WEF participants are asked not to visit any high school within a 50-mile radius of each WEF site during the week of its program unless the visit is initiated by the high school. Exceptions should be cleared by the Executive Director of WEF. h. Demonstrations of program related services and activities are not permitted without specific administrative approval.
