Arrowhead offers several on-line course opportunities for students. Many of our teachers have a blended on line instructional environment through our course management system, Moodle. Moodle is an open source course management system. Students may retrieve and upload assignments, review for tests, communicate with their instructors, discuss topics, and create original material through Moodle.
Achieve 3000 is web-based and individualized instruction for reading comprehension. It also is used to improve writing proficiency, vocabulary development, and standardized testing scores. Teachers can use the results to help with individualized classroom instruction based on a student's reading or "lexile" scores.
APEX on line instruction is used for AP exam review as well as credit recovery. APEX AP exam review is open to all Arrowhead students, regardless of whether they are currently enrolled in an AP class. AP exam review prepares students to take the AP exams. APEX credit recovery allows credit deficient students to complete courses in which they have otherwise been unsuccessful. Students must receive approval from their guidance counselors before taking an APEX credit recovery courses.
