AHS B-BOP

B-BOP's mission is to promote and support the instrumental music programs at Arrowhead High School by helping to recognize student accomplishments and to provide the directors with assistance as needed.

In keeping with this mission, there are ample opportunities for parents to become involved.  In August, B-BOP provides refreshments to students in marching band camp.  We also have a welcome picnic with an introduction to the music programs.  During the fall, two or three parents are needed to manage the marching band uniforms – fitting new members and keeping the uniforms in good condition.  Marching band members are usually given snacks or dinner also, and that support carries over to the pep band as it plays for basketball and hockey games.

Larger BBOP activities include coordinating the Lock-In and the Hot Chili, Cool Jazz concert.  Throughout the year, there are chaperone opportunities to some wonderful concerts.  For example, during spring break 2007, the band went to Chicago for three days.  The trip included an evening with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra as well as one with The Blue Man Group.

Elections are currently under way.  If you are interested in becoming more involved, please contact one of the current officers from the list below.  We hope to elect new officers at the end of the Awards Banquet on Tuesday evening, June 5.
