Welcome to the Boys Tennis Team! Our team is made up of 4 teams - Varsity, Junior Varsity, and the Junior Varsity Blue and Red teams. Only twelve boys make the varsity team, which is determined by ability and performance during tryouts and challenge matches. The positions on Varsity are 1-4 Singles, and 1-3 Doubles. The Junior Varsity is made up of the next top 16-18 players filling 1-4 Singles and 6 Doubles teams. The JV Blue and Red teams are made up of the remaining players. The JV Blue team will be freshman and sophomores. The JV Red team will be juniors and seniors. We have playoffs for positions on the four teams, WE DO NOT CUT. Everyone who comes to practice regularly will play matches.
Our First Day of Practice is March 28th. You Must Have the appropriate Physical or Brown Card on File In Order To Participate- No Exceptions.
Equipment needed:
· Tennis racquet/s
· Tennis Shoes- white soled only, and non marking
· Water jug or multiple water bottles ~ hydration is important
Practice attire and Uniform Information:
· Appropriate attire for practice would be athletic shorts with pockets, and t-shirts.
· Uniform order forms will be handed out on the first day of practice. Order forms are due to the coaches by Friday April 1st. There is a link for order forms on this web page.
The Head Coach of the boy’s tennis program is Jeremy Schlitt. The tennis courts are located between North and South campus just east of the football field and track. Practice times vary depending on the squad the player is on. Varsity practice time 3-5 p.m. JV practice time is 3-4:30 p.m. JV blue (freshman and sophomores) practice time is 4:30-5:30. JV Red (juniors and seniors) practice time is 5:30-6:30. Most of our conference matches are on Tuesday or Thursday with iinvites on Saturdays. There will be an organizational meeting for any interested boys during the months of January and February. The date, time and location of this meeting will be announced and published well in advance of the meeting date.
