The Arrowhead Boys Tennis season starts late March, and has five days of tryouts before the first match. The season concludes for most players around late May. Varsity players continue with tournament play, which could continue until mid June depending on how successful they are. We usually field three teams, varsity, JV-1, and JV 2. Only twelve boys make the varsity team, which is determined by ability and performance during tryouts and challenge matches. The remaining players are placed on JV-1 and JV-2 according to their ability levels. There is a no cut policy and all boys in grades 9-12 are welcome to try out. We compete in the Classic 8 conference and play fourteen matches, six large meet and eight dual matches.
The Head Coach of the boys tennis program is Jeremy Schlitt. The two JV teams each have a coach. The tennis courts are located between North and South campus just east of the football field and track. We practice Monday thru Friday from 3-5 p.m. Most of our conference matches are on Tuesday or Thursday with invitationals on Saturday. There will be an organizational meeting for any interested boys during the month of February. The date, time and location of this meeting will be announced and published well in advance of the meeting date.
