Mission Statement
To develop a positive environment where high school athletes learn and develop skills to play competitive lacrosse. Emphasis is placed on showing respect to individuals, teams, coaches, officials, and honoring all forms of athletic achievement. Players will develop confidence, good sportsmanship, and a love of sports which will enrich their lives for years to come.
While AHS will fund the program starting in 2011, Lacrosse is also supported by the parents of the players. School funding is applied to the cost of referees, busses, field equipment (goals, balls, field marking equipment), goalie equipment, uniforms and coaches. All other costs are the responsibility of each player. Player costs include, but are not limited to, equipment required to play lacrosse (stick (crosse), eye protection and mouthguard), transportation to and from all practices, spirit wear, warm-ups, tournament and non-conference game fees and expenses.
Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in the nation. If you are interested in participating, please check the Announcements and Important Dates Tab. Practices begin in March. Conference play starts in April and ends in late May. The tournament for the State Title is held in June.
Since 2007, Arrowhead has fielded two varsity and two junior varsity teams. The number of teams will vary depending on the number of participating athletes and available coaches. We are always looking for parents interested in helping coach, staffing the scoring table and more.
