The Arrowhead Poms/Dance program is an award winning athletic program with a tradition of high standards and expectations. Its purpose is to cultivate a love of dance among its members, to develop a true sense of self-discipline and excellence in working together as a team, and to foster a sense of community and responsibility to each other, to the program, and to the Arrowhead High School community.
The Varsity Dance Team is a competitive, precision dance team requiring a two-season commitment during the school year. It performs at school assemblies, all varsity football games in fall as well as varsity wrestling matches and basketball games in winter. In addition, the team performs in Arrowhead's Homecoming Parade!
Varsity begins its competitive season in summer with a Badgerette camp. Summer practices begin in late June in preparation for camp and are held daily through the first week in August. Since the squad competes as a unit, camp participation is mandatory.
During the school year, Varsity competes several times before completing its competitive season in January with Regionals and, should it qualify, the WACPC State Dance Championships.
Varsity practices during the school year are held from 3:00 – 5:15 p.m. Monday through Friday except on performance days.
