The Arrowhead wrestling program strives to develop an exceptional student-athlete and a disciplined, competitive athletic team. Participants can expect a safe, and challenging environment, which builds excellence in skills, teamwork and character. The Warhawk coaching staff demonstrates a sincere interest in the personal, academic and athletic progress of all individuals involved.
The wrestling season begins in November with varsity, junior varsity and freshman level competitions and concludes at the end of February. Practices are held everyday and on some Saturdays in the Arrowhead South Campus lower gym. Competitions are typically held on Thursday evenings and Saturdays. An organizational meeting takes place the first week of November.
In the last decade, the Warhawk wrestling team has become a Classic 8 Conference power crowning 49 conference champions and claiming conference tournament titles in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2008. 57 Warhawk grapplers have advanced to the WIAA Individual State Tournament with 31 claiming medals. The Warhawks have advanced to the WIAA State Team Tournament five straight years, were the Team Tournament Runner-up in 2005 and were a Semi-Finalist team in 2004, 2006 and 2008.
