French Club

French Club activities are scheduled periodically throughout the year and are open to any student in any French class.  Watch and listen for upcoming activities in your French class.

Upcoming Activities:

TRIP TO FRANCE 2017--There will be a trip to France during spring break 2017.  Price will be in the range of $4365 if you enroll by March 1, 2016 (includes everything, plus additional insurance, but lunches and spending money).  Informational meeting Thursday, February 11th, 7:00-8:00 p.m. in the SC Lab A (Library Classroom).    If you missed the informational meeting but are interested in the trip please see Mademoiselle Armour for an information packet.

DINNER AT THE MELTING POT--Wednesday, March 2nd.  Leave SC at 5:00 p.m. and return by 7:00 p.m.  $28 for the meal, tip and bus.  Space is limited to 36 people.  Sign up by Thursday, February 26th.

le Concours oral--SAVE THE DATE

Regional competition: Saturday, April 23rd, 2016 at Brookfield Academy; sign up by Friday, February 12th.  State competition: Saturday, May 14th at Arrowhead.  Compete against other students of your level in one of the following categories: Poetry, Prose, Conversation, Théâtre de Chambre, Reader's Theater or Music.  Cost to participate $10.  See Mademoiselle or presentation below for more information.

French Honor Society

Students who have a 3.5 gradepoint in their French classes and a 3.0 overall gradepoint will be invited to join French Honor Society after completing the first semester of French III.  To be eligible for membership, students must also have participated in 3 French Club activities during their AHS career.  Honor Society members are expected to continue their study of French through their senior year and to remain active participants in French Club activities.

Applications due by Friday, February 12th.  Applications are available in N164.

Initiation ceremony Monday, February 29th.
