Welcome to the Boys Tennis Team! Our team is made up of 3 teams - Varsity, Junior Varsity, and JV2. Only twelve boys make the varsity team, which is determined by ability and performance during tryouts and challenge matches. The positions on Varsity are 1-4 Singles, and 1-3 Doubles. The Junior Varsity is made up of the next top 16-18 players filling 1-4 Singles and 6 Doubles teams. The JV2 team is made up of the remaining players. We will have challenge matches for positions on the three teams, WE DO NOT CUT so there is a position on this team for everyone.Our First Day of Practice is March 26, 2018. You Must Have the appropriate Physical or Brown Card on File In Order To Participate- No Exceptions.
Equipment needed:
· Tennis racquet(s)
· Tennis Shoes- non marking
· Water jug or multiple water bottles
Practice attire and Uniform Information:
· Appropriate attire for practice would be athletic shorts with pockets, and t-shirts.
· JV Uniform Orders will be placed online this year. The uniform is new this year and is required for all players on the JV and JV2 teams. Please use the link at the bottom of this page.
The Head Coach of the boy’s tennis program is Jeremy Schlitt. The tennis courts are located between North and South campus just east of the football field and track. Practice times vary depending on the squad the player is on. Varsity practice time 3-5 p.m. JV practice time is 3-4:30 p.m. JV2 practice time is 4:30-6:00. Most of our conference matches are on Tuesday or Thursday with invites on Saturdays.
There will be an organizational meeting for any interested players on Februrary 22rd. The meeting will take place in the north campus junior study hall room at 2:50 PM. All players interested in playing this year need to attend. If a player is not able to attend they must contact Coach Schlitt using the email schlitt@arrowheadschools.org.
