Commercial Art deals with art as communication in an applied setting. Instruction will include typography, illustration, layout, photo manipulation, advertising techniques, logo design, and computer aided design on Macintosh computers, using scanners, digital cameras, and advanced graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and others. Students' work may be published in a variety of print media including school and community projects. Students will assemble a portfolio of work, which may help them gain access to design schools or a position as a commercial artist. This course is transcripted with WCTC.
