What is Public School Open Enrollment?
Wisconsin's inter-district public school open enrollment program allows parent to apply for their children to attend public school other than the one in which they reside, provided space is available.
When can parents apply?
The regular open enrollment application for the 2024-25 school year will begin February 5, 2024 and end April 30, 2024 at 4:00 PM.
You can apply on the Wisconsin DPI's Website once the application is open on February 5, 2024.
Who needs to apply?
All students who live outside of the Arrowhead Union High School district including students who are currently attending one of our 7 feeder schools under the open enrollment program. Once your open enrollment application has been approved, you will not have to reapply for future years.
When will the number of open enrollment seats be determined?
Nonresident school boards are required to designate regular and special education spaces available for the next school year at a January board meeting.
What is the alternative application procedure?
The 2011 Act 114 established an alternate application procedure which allows students to apply for open enrollment at any time during a school year if certain criteria are met. The alternate open enrollment application must be submitted during the school year in which the pupil wants to begin attending school in the nondistrict school district.
