The SAVE Team (Survivor And Veteran Experiences) interviews veterans from World War II, Korea, and Vietnam as well as Holocaust survivors in an effort to "save" their stories for future generations. We also seek to educate our peers about this period in history and celebrate these brave men and women with special events and fundraising efforts. It is our hope to honor these heroes before they are gone and to make others aware of the sacrifices made by that generation.
In the fall of 2015 the SAVE Team was selected as one of the "Reasons to Love Milwaukee" by Milwaukee Magazine.
4. The Save Team (aka The Junior John Gurdas) - A group of high school students "interview World War II vets and really just try to capture their stories and make recordings of them...The kids' whole goal is to preserve these memories because we will not always have them."
The SAVE Team Meets the 3rd Thursday of every month from 2:45 PM - 3:30 PM in N193. Interviews are usually conducted after school and on the weekends.
