Kacie Estes
Athlete-Girls Softball
When Kacie Estes first took to the softball field as a freshman pitcher for the Arrowhead varsity fast-pitch softball team in the spring of 2002, the Arrowhead program instantly got better. She was that good.
By the time her four-year career came to an end, Kacie became perhaps the most impactful athlete in the storied history of Arrowhead athletics. No player ever made a bigger splash into their sport than the hard-throwing right-hander.
The numbers Kacie earned in her career were brilliant. She is the statistical career leader in all four of the school's all-time pitching categories. For her career, she won a total of 48 games, five ahead of the runner-up. She's the career leader in the ERA category with an almost unbelievable mark of 1.04. That's just over one run allowed per game. She also is the career strikeout leader with a whopping total of 660 – that’s 260 more than the runner-up.
When it comes to tossing no-hitters, her star shines brightly. She hurled five no-hitters, all coming in her first three years. She had two each as a sophomore in 2003 and as a junior in 2004. One of those was a perfect game, coming against Catholic Memorial in 2003.
Some of Kacie’s single season records are just as amazing. She has the two lowest season ERA's in school history. As a junior, she finished the season with a mark of 0.40. That's just four-tenths of a run per game. As a senior in 2005, she finished the year with an ERA of 0.70.
She also holds the top four single season strikeout numbers in school history. Her school record of 177 came her senior year. Her other numbers are 172 in 2003, 162 in 2004 and 149 in 2002.
In that run, Kacie led the Warhawks to a state tournament appearance in 2004, the fourth state meet appearance in school history. Arrowhead won 74% of their games in her four-year career.
After leaving Arrowhead, Kacie pitched two years at Northern Iowa University.
Currently, Dr. Kacie Estes Walters has her own chiropractic business in Hartland. She lives in Pewaukee with her husband Travis and has two children, Eli and Isabella.
