Randy Kleinhans
In the age of specialization, Randy Kleinhans looks back fondly at his years of being a four-sport athlete at Arrowhead High School. He accumulated nine Varsity letters, capturing three in track, two in basketball, two in baseball and two in football. As a junior, Randy made Varsity in four sports.

Arrowhead Athletic Achievements
Track
Randy qualified for State three years in a row for the 300 IM hurdles and two years in the 110 M high hurdles. His senior year, he finished 2nd in the 110 M high hurdles and 3rd in the 300 IM hurdles. In addition, Randy set Arrowhead’s 110 M high hurdle record his senior year at 14.58 seconds (this record still stands today). He helped lead the track team from 1987-1989 to many indoor and outdoor Conference Championships.
Baseball
His senior year, Randy was an Honorable Mention All-Conference first baseman, and his junior year, the Arrowhead baseball team won the Conference title.
Basketball
Super quick on the court, Randy played basketball for Arrowhead all four years, earning a Varsity letter his junior and senior years.
Football
Randy was named Arrowhead’s offensive MVP as a junior and was crowned First Team All-Conference – Offensive Tight End. His senior year, he was named the team’s MVP and Captain, plus he captured 1st Team All-Conference and All-State – Defensive Back honors.
It was his football talents that caught the coach’s attention at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he received a football scholarship. He transferred to Platteville his sophomore year and started in every game, playing free safety, strong safety and outside linebacker.
Randy and his wife Jodi (Sommerfeldt – AHS class of 1989) just celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary. They have three active children: Jake, Logan and Maggie. Randy currently works for Tractor & Equipment (Caterpillar Dealer) as a Branch Manager in Bozeman, MT.
