All-Conference. All-Waukesha. Honorable Mention All-State. Team MVP. Captain. Leading scorer. There isn’t much John Kaiser didn’t accomplish the three years he attended Arrowhead High School. Whether playing football (two Varsity letters) basketball (three letters) or baseball (two letters), John excelled and made a difference for the Warhawks.
Football
As a junior, John was named First-Team All-Conference as an offensive Tackle. In addition, he earned First-Team All-Lake Country and Second-Team All-Waukesha honors. As a senior and Team Captain, he captured First-Team All-Conference as an offensive tackle and also as a defensive end, plus First-Team All-Lake Country (both OT and DE), First-Team All-Waukesha (both OT and DE) and Third-Team All-State (DE). In addition, he was named Team MVP, played in the Shriners High School All-Star game, and was selected to the Arrowhead 50th Anniversary Football Team (2006 Lake Country Reporter).
Basketball
As a junior and team captain, John was named First-Team All-Conference, First-Team All-Lake Country, First-Team All-Waukesha County and Honorable Mention All-Milwaukee Journal. In addition, he led the team in scoring (18.6 ppg) and rebounds (12 rpg), was second in the conference for scoring and was first in the conference for rebounding. As a senior and team captain, John was named First-Team All-Conference, First-Team All-Lake Country, First-Team All-Waukesha County, Second-Team All-Milwaukee Journal and Third-Team All-State. He also repeated as the leading scorer and rebounder for AHS, was second in the conference for scoring and was first in the conference for rebounding. Chuck Delsman of the Lake Country Reporter named John to the First-Team All-Time, All-Star Arrowhead Basketball Team. With John’s help, Arrowhead won the conference championship three years in a row.
After Arrowhead, John played outside linebacker for two years at the College of the Sequoias in Visalia, CA. There, his team won the conference title and John started in every game. He was named First-Team All-Conference and All-California, plus second-Team All-American. From California, John headed to the University of Arizona with a scholarship to finish his collegiate football career. He started every game, and in his senior year, he earned Honorable Mention All-Pac 10 honors, plus was named Defensive Player of Game on two occasions. After playing in the Blue-Gray Christmas Day All-Star Game, John was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks. He played in every game under Chuck Knox for three years as a linebacker and on special teams. He finished his NFL career playing LB and special teams with the Buffalo Bills.
