Arrowhead High School is one of only a few public schools offering the sport of field hockey in the State of Wisconsin. The field hockey season starts tryouts the second week in August and the season concludes by the end of October. Arrowhead fields the following teams: Varsity, Varsity Reserve, and Junior Varsity. Girls are placed on teams based on their ability and their performance during tryouts. Tryouts are open to all freshman, sophomore, junior and senior girls. Each team carries a roster of 18 to 20 girls. Schools sponsoring teams in our conference this season are Brookfield Academy, University School of Milwaukee, Divine Savior Holy Angels, Trinity Academy, Kettle Moraine High School, Living Word Academy, and University Lake School. In addition to our conference schedule, we participate in the Gateway Classic tournament in St. Louis over the Labor Day holiday in September.
The Head Coach for Arrowhead Field Hockey is Melissa Brengosz . If you are interested in coaching, please contact Head Coach Brengosz at the e-mail or phone number provided below.
Fields are located near Arrowhead North Campus just North of the Mullett Ice Center. Teams practice every day after school and often play games on Saturdays. Practices usually last 2 hours. Students provide practice attire and the school provides the game uniforms. Athletes will also be required to provide reversible pinnies, mouth-guards, goggles, shin-guards, cleated shoes and running shoes. We will provide sticks for beginner players if needed.
Organizational meetings for any interested girls are held during the month of March. Further details will be explained at this organizational meeting. Notice of the date, time and location of the organizational meeting will be announced and published well in advance of the meeting date.
