If you want to get in the best shape of your life and have a fun time doing it, then running cross country at Arrowhead is your sport. Cross Country is a challenging and rewarding sport. There are no cuts for cross country, and the only requirement is that you come to practice and meets prepared to run hard and compete against the other runners and more importantly yourself.
We encourage all runners to join one of the best programs in the state. Our biggest strength as a team is all of the girls pulling for each other in every practice and every meet.
The team will practice Monday - Friday from 3:10 to 5:00 PM while school is in session and Saturday practices will begin at 9:00 AM and end around 10:45 AM.
The only equipment needed to run is clothing suitable to run in, a good pair of running shoes, and a watch. The team will gather to start practices at the cross country shed in the woods on the west side of the cross country course at the northwest corner of the school grounds.
The team participates in eight to nine different meets during the season. All races on the Varsity and JV level are 2 ½ - 3.1 miles. Freshmen and new cross country runners start the season running a 2-mile race at the first meet and will run 3.1 miles after that. A freshman can make the varsity team if they are one of the seven fastest runners on the team. Arrowhead hosts at least 2 meets during the season with the largest being the Arrowhead Invite.
The head coach for the cross country program is Curt Kaczor. If you have any questions you can contact Coach Kaczor. His email can be obtained through the information link on the right in the "Team Information" or "Tentative Schedule".
