Bob Hackbart
Wrestlers dream of it…a perfect record.
Bob Hackbart was the Lake Country area’s first perfect record. In 1978, the 167-pounder went 28-0, winning the State title and helping Arrowhead claim its second State crown as a team.
Bob wrestled for Arrowhead from 1974-1978. In addition to winning State, he was named All-Conference four years in a row, All-State in 1978 and was captain of the team his junior and senior years. Also, Chuck Delsman, Lake Country Reporter, named Bob to the Lake Country Area’s All-time Wrestling Team.
Besides wrestling, Bob played football for AHS and was named captain his senior year. In addition, he played varsity tennis 1976-78. However, it was his dedication to wrestling that earned him a spot on UW-Madison’s wrestling team, working at the 177-pound weight class.
After college, Bob helped coached various youth teams, including wrestling, girls and boys basketball, soccer and softball.
Bob has served as a teacher for 13 years and as administrator for 18 years for the Woodstock School District. He has been married to his rock Pat for more than 25 years and has two children: Melissa who is expecting Bob and Pat’s first grandchild in June, and Matthew who will be attending Loyola in the fall for med school.
