Nick Hayden
Athlete-Football
Nick's high school football career at Arrowhead (2000 through 2003) was a brilliant one. His presence on the defensive side of the ball made one of the biggest impacts in program history. To this day Nick just might be the best defensive player the school has ever seen. He was a three-year all-conference first-team player in the Classic 8 Conference and his game kept getting better each year. He was a first-team All-State defensive tackle his junior and senior seasons in 2002 and 2003. In 2003, he earned one of the state's top awards by being named the State Player of the Year on defense.
But Nick’s football career was just beginning. He went on to play for the Wisconsin Badgers, starting in 39 games his final three seasons, recording 132 tackles, 10 sacks and 6 fumble recoveries. Nick then earned another top honor, getting drafted in the 6th round by the Carolina Panthers in 2008.
In the NFL, he played for Carolina, Cincinnati, Cleveland and had his best stint with the Dallas Cowboys from 2013 through 2015. In those three seasons, he started at defensive tackle in 47 games, being one of the "rocks" of those Dallas defenses.
Nick also played varsity basketball at Arrowhead and in his senior season, helped lead the Warhawks to a WIAA sectional championship game.
Nick is currently living back in the Lake Country area where he and his wife, Milania, have three beautiful daughters, Layla (9), Teagan (4) and Presley (9 months). Nick is currently an assistant football coach for the Arrowhead Warhawks, coaching the defensive line.
