Cathy LaVoi
For many athletes, going to the WIAA State Tournament is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Cathy LaVoi became the first player from Arrowhead to go to the WIAA State Basketball Tournament all four years. Plus she was a major contributor on the 1988 undefeated team.
Playing Varsity basketball from 1986-1990, Cathy lost only seven games in her high school career and was a Pre-Season All-American and MVP of the 1990 team. Her basketball resume also includes Varsity Reserve Player of the Year in 1987, All-Conference honors and her team was ranked 4th in the nation by USA Today. In addition, during her four-year career, she led the team at various times in rebounds, assists, charges and shooting percentage. In one Sectional game, Cathy shot 100%, making 13 for 13 from the field.
In addition to basketball, Cathy also lettered and went to the State Tournament in softball and soccer.
While Cathy was offered full-ride scholarships to Marquette and Green Bay, she went to Carroll College to pursue an education in early childhood development.
Cathy was known as a hard-worker who took care of her teammates. Today, she is still taking care of others, working in California as a nanny for the Sharon Stone family. She also recently got her masters from Loyola Marymont.
