Chuck Delsman
For the past 46 years, Chuck Delsman has covered Arrowhead sports for the Lake Country Reporter. Attending games, investigating opponents, taking stats, interviewing athletes and coaches, and writing articles, Chuck has spent countless hours dedicated to giving Arrowhead newspaper coverage. No other reporter in Wisconsin has covered more years of high school sports than Chuck.
Witnessing it all, Chuck is most proud of his reporting of girls WIAA athletics when it first started. He was the first writer to cover a WIAA girl’s basketball game - it happened to be Arrowhead’s first game in December 1975 against Germantown.
Talking sports with some of my friends:
- If someone needs Arrowhead sports history, is there any doubt they would turn to Chuck Delsman?
- Who is the best sports reporter in the area? We’re betting on Chuck Delsman.
- Remember where you heard it first…Chuck Delsman has covered more live AHS sporting events than any other reporter.
- Does Chuck Delsman bleed Arrowhead? It sure looks that way to us.
A former Arrowhead athlete and graduate (1967), Chuck has witnessed AHS sports since the school’s first year in 1956. He is proud of his alma mater transforming from very average, in terms of athletics, to outstanding.
