Wrestling is in his blood. Brad Yde grew up in a wrestling family with two generations of Yde boys excelling on the mat for Arrowhead. Brad and his family have more than 1,000 Varsity wrestling wins at Arrowhead.
Brad was the first Yde to become a WIAA State Wrestling Champion, earning an impressive 35-0-1 record in 1990. He wrestled at 160 pounds and his closest match at State his senior year was 11-1. The four-year Varsity wrestling letter winner was also a three-time Conference Champion, two-time team Captain and MVP at Arrowhead. While Brad’s senior year was the highlight, his success at the WIAA competition started when he was a junior where he took 6th place.
In addition to wrestling, Brad excelled on the AHS football field, earning All-Conference and All-Regional honors his senior year. As a running back, Brad recorded an impressive +1,000-yard season.
While at Arrowhead, Brad also wrestled for four years on the Wisconsin National Wrestling Team where he was the 1989 State Greco Wrestling Champion. That same year, he also was crowned the State Freestyle Champion.
Currently, Brad and his wife Tera reside most of the year in Florida. He does return to Wisconsin frequently and helps with the Yde Drywall business. Brad also enjoys motor cross racing.
