Tom Tallmadge
Tom Tallmadge helped put Arrowhead on Wisconsin’s golf map, as the school became the first in state history to win four consecutive State golf championships. Under Coach Tallmadge, the AHS boys golf program captured:
- 10 Conference championships
- 11 State appearances
- 5 State titles
- 45 invitational titles
Coach Tallmadge first coached the boys junior varsity golf team at Arrowhead, until taking over the varsity program from 1995 to 2010. While coaching, he coordinated the Arrowhead-sponsored Lake Country Invitational High School Golf Tournament, and in 2007, he changed the tournament so it would support the MACC Fund in the fight against childhood cancer.
Coach Tallmadge was an instructor for exceptional ed at AHS and is recently retired from both coaching and teaching.
Here’s a fun side note: prior to teaching and coaching, Tom signed a professional baseball contract in 1961 with the Detroit Tigers.
